Why is it becoming difficult for college students to get good internships?

In the last 2 years, it became a trend for college students to do in-semester remote internships. But why are they facing difficulty to get such internships now?

- Companies going back to the office: 73% of companies In India considering adopting a hybrid working model. This involves going to the office at least once a week.

As the managers have started working from the office, the communication and effectiveness of work will be better if companies hire in-office interns.

- Recruiters understand that working from college will be difficult: As colleges have also gone offline, students find it difficult to manage their studies, extracurricular activities, and internships together which recruiters understand well.

Earlier, students tend to take one of these components lightly, to focus more on the internships.

But how can you still get remote internships?

- Create a portfolio: This will improve the chance to get shortlisted. Recruiters get tons of resumes and cold DMS every day, this will help you step out of the crowd.

- Content creation: if you're interested in getting an internship in a particular domain, start creating content around it. Imagine your next boss is already aware of you and your work.
